At the program, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung, Director of Hanoi Police reviewed the 60-year tradition of the People's Police force. On July 20, 1962, President Ho Chi Minh signed and promulgated two ordinances defining the tasks and powers of the People's Police and the rank system of officers and non-commissioned officers of the People's Police of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
During their glorious journey, under the leadership of the Party, the beloved Uncle Ho, officers and soldiers of the People's Police in general, and the Hanoi Police in particular, have always been absolutely loyal to the Party and the revolutionary cause, national interests, maintaining strong bonds with the people. He mentioned examples with revolutionary heroism such as Heroic Martyrs Nguyen Van Uan, Nguyen Tai Hai, Nguyen Thai Binh and hundreds of other heroes and martyrs of the capital Police force.
“Continuing the good tradition of the Vietnam People's Police, officers of the Hanoi Police today are constantly striving for the country’s peace, and the people's happiness. There have been thousands of examples of absolute loyalty to the Party's revolutionary cause, sense of service to the people, spirit of overcoming difficulties, preserving revolutionary moral qualities, and dedication to work," Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung affirmed.
The Director of Hanoi Police acknowledged that in the coming time, peace, cooperation and development are still a major trend, but many potential threats to the social order in Hanoi remain. That context has been posing a very heavy task, requiring the Metropolitan Police force to continue to uphold the spirit of vigilance, ingenuity, courage, determination, ingenuity, and active prevention.
At the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen emphasized that the Hanoi Police force has shown strong political bravery, is always absolutely loyal to the cause of the Party, the Fatherland and the People.
In order to continue promoting the glorious tradition of the heroic Capital Police force, Tuyen called for the police to continue ensuring security and order; strengthen crime prevention and combat in the new situation.
Hanoi police should continue to promote its role as the main force in the prevention and fight against crime and law violations. At the same time, Tuyen said it would continue to closely coordinate with agencies and units inside and outside the Public Security branch to strengthen crime prevention and control, and promote the movement of the whole people to protect national security in the new situation.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen also called for strengthening the work of Party building, building a clean and strong force in terms of politics, ideology, organization and professional expertise; constantly training to improve political quality, revolutionary ethics, professional morals, discipline, lifestyle, sense of responsibility and attitude to serve the people.
