Tuyen conducted checks on COVID-19 prevention work at construction site of the Progress Plaza Apartment project (No.175 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street), and Nguyen Kim supermarket in Ba Dinh district (No.17-19 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street).
Stressing the complicated situation of COVID-19 pandemic, Permanent Deputy Secretary Tuyen asked relevant units to strictly follow pandemic prevention and control regulations to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
A report presented at the working session with the authorities of Ba Dinh district showed, from September 22 to October 7, the locality recorded two COVID-19 cases related to the new cluster at the Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.
A total of 14 people who were exposed to COVID-19 cases have been traced and all have tested negative for the virus.
The local authorities have also taken effective measures to achieve socio-economic development targets and ensure national security and defense. State budget collection in the first nine months of 2021 met 65.74% of the estimate.
Hoang Minh Dung, Secretary of the district Party Committee, said that Ba Dinh has so far vaccinated around 50% of its adult population with the second COVID-19 vaccine shot.
The competent authorities have delivered the support worth over VND50.2 billion to people facing difficulties due to the pandemic, he added.
According to Dung, Ba Dinh will do its utmost to control the pandemic along with ensuring economic growth, safely adapting to the pandemic in line with the central and the city's guidelines.
Special attention will be paid to implementing social welfare policies to help virus-hit people, contributing to ensuring social safety and order.
Concluding the session, Permanent Deputy Secretary Nguyen Thi Tuyen hailed the local government's effort in realizing the dual tasks of containing the pandemic and boosting economic recovery, as well as maintaining social security in the area.
She asked for more effort to protect public health as the pandemic is still complicated and unpredictable.
Tuyen urged the district to stay vigilant against COVID-19, while requiring local residents to abide by the 5K message and other countermeasures set by the Ministry of Health.
In order to achieve the dual goal, Ba Dinh district should speed up the progress of major projects and strive to fulfill its budget collection target amid the COVID-19 pandemic, she underlined.
Tuyen also requested the local authorities to pay more attention to the Party building work, and roll out an urban governance model effectively.
The district needs to prepare scenarios to ensure safety for students when they return to school, she ordered.
