Hanoi becomes an attractive destination for EU’s investors (11:21 17/06/2021)

HNP - Member of the Party Central  Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh on June 16 hosted Ambassador Giorgio Aliberti, Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Vietnam, Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam Paul Jansen, French Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery, and Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Antonio Alessandro.

At the reception, Hanoi mayor Chu Ngoc Anh underlined that the cooperation under the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and other sector has helped the capital city develop over the past time. 


According to him, under the 2021-2025 development plan and vision for the next decade, Hanoi targets becoming a green, beautiful, civilized and modern capital. The municipal authorities have advocated administrative reform to create favorable conditions for businesses and economic community, including European partners.


The mayor briefed the guests on Vietnam’s initial success, including Hanoi’s in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. 
Describing COVID-19 vaccination as the capital’s important and necessary solution to stamp out the pandemic, the city leader expressed his hope that the EU will help Hanoi accelerate the access to vaccine source purchase and import the inoculant  as soon as possible.
He urged the EU to soon start the building of the European Management University in Vietnam, while vowing all possible support for the project in the immediate future.
Chairman Anh also wished that the ambassadors will continue to serve as a bridge to bring the relations between the EU and Vietnam and Hanoi in particular to new height.
For his part, Ambassador Giorgio Aliberti, Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Vietnam, affirmed that the EU always hopes for comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam.
Regarding the building of the European Management University, Aliberti wished the Hanoi’s government to support for the project in the near future. 
He pledged the EU will join hands with the capital city in building the green economy, developing smart city as well as training high-quality human resources.
The head of the EU Delegation to Vietnam also expressed his belief that Hanoi will be an attractive destination for EU businesses.
