Ha Noi’s seven-month CPI rises 4.01% (06:09 09/08/2019)

HNP – The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade has recently issued Report No.  210/BC-SCT on prices, goods supply and demand in July in the city. 

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the total retail sales of goods and social services in July was reported at VND226.7 trillion (roughly US$9.8 trillion), jumping 0.6% against the previous month and up 9.2% compared to the same period last year. In the first seven months, the figure was estimated at VND1,557.8 trillion (over US$68 trillion), up 10.5% year on year. 
While, the total retail sales of goods and consumer services in July reached VND46.2 trillion (over US$2 billion), up 0.5% month on month and 9.5% year on year. 
For the January-July period, the total retail sales of goods and consumer services fetched VND316.1 trillion (nearly US$14 billion), up 10.7 annually.
Some commodity groups recorded revenue increases, namely, food (+22.3%), fuel (+19.7%), household equipment and tools (+10.2%), garments (+9.5%), among others. 
Hanoi’s consumer price index (CPI) in July rose by 0.02% compared to the previous month, and up 3.7% year on year. The city’s seven-month CPI grew 4.01% compared to the same period last year. 
In July, 9 out of 11 commodity groups recorded price increases, of which beverages and tobacco reported the sharpest increase of 0.23% due to the surging demand for beer and soft drinks. The remaining eight groups saw annually slight rises.
While, the prices of housing, electricity, water, fuels and building materials declined 0.18%, and the prices household appliances dropped 0.02%.
