According to Director of Department of Health Tran Thi Nhi Ha, relevant units and localities have taken effective measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Especially, the local authorities have spared no effort to timely trace those who were exposed to infected cases, making great contribution to the initial success of the COVID-19 fight.
She stated that in the coming time, the health sector will organize conferences to disseminate pandemic prevention and control protocols among leaders of hospitals and medical establishments, aiming to keep hospitals safe and prevent high-risk patients from acquiring the virus
Ha underlined the necessity to tighten the management of concentrated quarantine facilities, and closely supervise people completing 14-day quarantine period.
Regarding patient 2986, who is an Indian man living in Times City, the official said that the health sector will cooperate with the authority of Hoang Mai district to conduct mass testing for dwellers in the residential buildings.
At the meeting, the leader of Dong Anh district said that the locality confirmed two COVID-19 cases and all are linked to Patient 2978 in the northern province of Vinh Phuc. As many as 2,173 people in the district have been tested for the virus and their results are pending.
The local task force has identified 98 people coming into close contact with the COVID-19 patients (called F1) since April 29. Among 70 F1 cases in the district, 68 are negatives for SARS-CoV-2.
The district ordered to shut down all non-essential services as part of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19. Meanwhile, relic and religious sites, street eateries and iced tea stalls are required to shutter to prevent COVID-19 from spreading.
The local leader also mentioned difficulties in the fight against coronavirus, especially in industrial parks.
According to the leader of Hai Ba Trung district, the local forces have traced all those relating to patient 2967 who lives at 94E Bui Thi Xuan Street, Nguyen Du Ward.
All close contacts (F1s) have been sent to concentrated quarantine camps and tested for the coronavirus. Those exposed to F1s (F2s) have been isolated at home.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung stressed the complicated development of the pandemic.
He urged local authorities to continue strictly implementing the direction of the Central level, the Ministry of Health and the municipal authorities.
Dung ordered stronger communication on COVID-19 prevention regulations on mass media.
All residents are advised to avoid gatherings, wear masks, keep a distance of at least 1m in public areas, and make medical declaration.
“The city decides to close cinemas, spas, massage parlors, fitness clubs and stops non-essential services to fight coronavirus”, the vice chairman stated.
Dung assigned the Department of Health to enhance inspection to promptly detect suspected cases in the community, and speed up rapid testing and conduct aggressive contact tracing to prevent the virus from spreading.
The municipal police are tasked to cooperate with local authorities to monitor pandemic prevention work in the community, strengthen illegal immigration control and impose tough punishment for violation cases.
Dung also requested local authorities to ramp up tracking and testing, and closely control affected areas.
