The delegation included Commander of the Hanoi Capital High Command Major General Nguyen Quoc Duyet; Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen; and leaders of relevant departments and sectors.
Before working with the authority of Ba Vi district, the delegation examined electoral preparation, and COVId-19 prevention work at polling stations in Yen Bai and Tay Dang communes.
Giving a report at the working session, Deputy Secretary of the district Party Committee said that Ba Vi has so far recorded zero cases of COVID-19.
According to him, the local task forces have identified eight cases exposed to coronavirus infections (called F1) and sent them to concentrated quarantine camps. Meanwhile, 104 others in close contact with F1 (F2) have been isolated at home for health monitoring.
In order to enhance COVID-19 prevention and control efforts, the district has established five inspection teams to check enforcement of coronavirus prevention measures in 31 communes and towns.
In an effort to curb the spread of the virus, the local authorities decided to temporarily suspend karaoke parlors, game and internet services. Relics, temples and religious sites are ordered to shutter. Facilities with catering services are requested to strictly comply with COVId-19 prevention and control rules.
For the upcoming elections, the district leader said the local authorities have paid special attention to election training and dealing with denunciations and complaints related to the elections.
To date, Ba Vi has completed the listing of candidates to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for 2021-2026 tenure, finishing publishing electoral rolls at polling stations.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said that Ba Vi has strictly realized guiding documents issued by the city on electoral preparation process, and COVID-19 prevention and control.
He requested the district to continue effectively implement the dual goals of fighting the pandemic and boosting economic development, while striving to be recognized as new style rural areas in 2022.

Concluding the session, Chairman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan praised the effort of the local administration and people in preparing for the elections as well as in the fight against COVID-19.
“All preparations for the upcoming elections have been carried out in line with laws and in a democratic, transparent and public way”, he stated.
Stressing the complicated evolution of the pandemic, Tuan asked the local authorities to stay vigilant and follow the directions of the municipal government on measures against COVID-19.
He asked for diversified communication ways to mobilize the entire political system in the combat, while calling on local residents to closely the 5K message of the Ministry of Health.
The local task forces must enhance inspections and map out a specific scenario to respond to the different development of the pandemic and ensure safety during the elections, he ordered.
The city leader urged the local authorities to prepare the best conditions for the elections to make sure that the event truly become a festival of the entire people.
