For nearly four years (1942-1945), the people in the Tram Long commune had given refuge and protected many high-ranking leaders of the Party, such as Truong Chinh, Hoang Van Thu, Hoang Quoc Viet, and Do Muoi.
On August 17, 1945, Comrade Do Muoi at Chong Temple called on the people to rise up and seize power in Ung Hoa District. A day later, the people of Tram Long Commune held a gathering to celebrate the victory of the uprising.
During the war against the French, the locals in Tram Long had shown unyielding fighting spirit to protect the stronghold and later contributed to the historical victory in Dien Bien Phu.
