Later, the delegation joined an online meeting of Cau Giay district’s command for COVID-19 prevention and control with People’s Committees of wards on pandemic countermeasures.
According to a report of Cau Giay, the district has confirmed 33 COVID-19 infected cases since July 27.
Following the central and the city’s guidelines, the local authorities have taken drastic measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus and ensure social welfare.
So far, more than 117,000 samples have been collected for COVID-19 testing. Nearly 151,500 vaccine doses have been administered.
More efforts have been made to ensure the sufficient supply of essential goods for local people amid the coronavirus outbreaks.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Trong Dong said that the district is facing high risk of COVID-19 spreading as it is home to high-rise apartment buildings, dormitories and universities.
He urged the district to enhance COVID-19 prevention and control work and make preparations for pandemic development response.
Concluding the inspection session, Permanent Deputy Secretary Nguyen Thi Tuyen lauded Cau Giay district for its rapid response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Strong measures have been put in place to deter community transmission, she added.
According to her, Hanoi is accelerating mass screening in line with the Government’s Dispatch No. 71/CD-TTg, while striving to fulfill set target of vaccinating all of its population aged over 18 before September 15.
After achieving the set goal, the district would plan to safeguard health of the elderly and children, she noted, asking for thorough preparations for providing the second shot for eligible people.
Stressing the risk of infection of new strains, the Party official asked the district to tighten control of travel permits during the social distancing period.
She ordered the local authorities to have a detailed plan to restore business and production activities as well as maintain social security and order in the area.
Tuyen expressed her belief that after the fourth period of social districting application as well as completion of mass testing and vaccination, Cau Giay would basically put the pandemic under control and along with the city enter a new normal.
