The delegation included Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen, and leaders of relevant departments and branches.
Before working with the authorities of Hoan Kiem District, Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan along with the delegation paid a visit to medical station of Phuc Tan ward, and had a working session with the ward’s command for COVID-19 prevention and control on measures to combat the novel coronavirus.
Stressing that the on-going COVID-19 situation is complicated and unpredictable, Tuan asked the local authorities to remain vigilant against the pandemic and take the fight to a higher level.
The district should strictly implement social distancing measures to deter community transmission, he ordered.
Tuan requested the authorities to enhance inspection on observance of pandemic countermeasures in the area, and accelerate issuance of travel permits to local enterprises and people.
Lauding the district for its effort in delivering the support to those hit by the pandemic, the Chairman required Hoan Kiem to continue better caring for needy people in line with the city’s guidelines.
Saying that the important mission from now until September 15 is to complete mass testing and vaccination for local residents, Tuan asked the district, based on the city’s Plan No. 206/KH-UBND, to map out its detailed plan to fulfill the task as scheduled.
The district must make preparations for vaccination against COVID-19, and ensure that the campaign will take place in a successful and safe manner, he ordered.
He also asked for strong communication on the central and the city’s guidelines so as to create high consensus during the implementation of the tasks.
According to a report of Hoan Kiem District, the locality confirmed 29 COVID-19 infection cases from August 17 to September 7.
The task forces have worked together to trace, isolate and test all people who were exposed to coronavirus carriers (called F1), and those in close contact with F1 (F2).
The district launched a special emulation movement titled “People in Hoan Kiem join hands to contain the pandemic” to mobilize all resources to control and repel the coronavirus outbreak.
From July 24 to September 7, more than 800 people were fined over VND1.6 billion for violating COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.
The local authorities have paid special attention to implementing preferential policies to aid employees and employers facing difficulties due to the pandemic.
