According to reports by district-level authorities, the localities have strictly carried out measures to contain the spread of COVID-19. More efforts have made to make epidemiological investigation on people who were exposed to coronavirus carriers (called F1), and those in close contact with F1 (F2) cases.
Local authorities have prepared conditions for the building of additional concentrated quarantine camps, at the same time drawing up scenarios to successfully host the high-school entrance examination which is scheduled to take place on June 10-11.
Regarding COVID-19 infection related to the Renaissance Missionary Church, the representative of Chuong My district affirmed the local government has followed regulations on the management of  religious activities.
The district traced and collected samples of all cases related to the cluster for COVID-19 testing. On June 3, 11 obtained negative results and one is pending.
For preparations for the upcoming high-school admission exam, the Department of Education and Training said that due to the complicated development of the pandemic, the city decided to adjust the exam schedule and time to ensure the safety of students.
Particularly, students will attend the entrance exams on the mornings of June 12 and 13 with two subjects.
Those applying for specialized high schools for gifted students, will take their tests on June 14-16.
In addition, F0 and F1 students will be automatically admitted to public schools that they applied for without taking the entrance exams so as to ensure safety amid the pandemic.
Stringent preventive measures against COVID-19 will be put in place so as to ensure safety during the examinations.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung warned that Hanoi faces high risk of COVID-19 spreading although no new cases have been detected in the community over the days.
He called on the whole political system and people to join hands to prevent the risk for the outbreak to spread city-wide.
Departments, sectors and local authorities are required to strictly implement Dispatch No. 12/CD-UBND issued by the municipal People’s Committee on June 2 on drastic measures against COVID-19.
“Due to the rapid mutation and spread of the novel coronavirus, it is necessary to be flexible in the pandemic prevention measures and to tighten the management and control of concentrated quarantine camps”, said Dung.
He noted that local governments should mobilize all legal resources for the COVID-19 vaccine purchase and inoculation fund.
The municipal competent authorities need to strictly punish cases who violate pandemic prevention and control rules, and timely commend the forces directly involved in the fight against cOVID-19, the official suggested.
Dung also urged the Department of Health to make plans to carry out the third phase of COVID-19 vaccination.
The Vice Chairman ordered the Department of Education and Training and local authorities to double-check all preparation and map out detailed scenarios to ensure safety for the entrance examinations.
Concerning that F0 and F1 students will be automatically admitted to public schools without taking the entrance exams, Dung said that heads of district-level steering committees for COVID-19 prevention and control (or chairpersons of local People’s Committees) will be held responsible  for any inaccuracies in the information of the candidates.
