At the meeting, representative of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - Hoan Kiem district briefed voters on short bios of five candidates for deputies of the Hanoi People’s Council, while five candidates also presented their respective action programs if elected.
Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said in this coming term, he and other deputies of the People’s Council would propose to the central government of long-term and sustainable policies for Hanoi, including the revision of the Capital Law; the implementation of resolution No.97 on pilot implementation of the urban administration model; resolution No.115 on the pilot implementation of special finance-budget mechanism for Hanoi; resolution on special mechanism on repairing and rebuilding old apartment buildings in Hanoi.
“As Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council, I am the head of the Steering Committee on two major action programs of the municipal Party Committee, including No.3 “Urban economic development and renovation in 2021 - 2025,” and No.8 “Expanding social welfare and living standards of the people in 2021 - 2025,” which have significant impacts for downtown districts such as Hoan Kiem,” said Tuan.
To realize these two programs, Tuan said he would focus on fields of master planning, transportation, urban infrastructure, housing, renovation, preserving major architecture, culture and historical building in Hanoi.
Secretary of Hoan Kiem district Party Committee Vu Dang Dinh said he would try his utmost as representative of the people. “As leader of the district Party Committee, I would promote unity within the Party organization to realize 10 action programs of the Hanoi Party Committee and seven programs of the Hoan Kiem district’s Party Committee,” he said.
Dinh proposed the city to continue improving people’s living standard and develop trade, tourism sectors.
In her action program, Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Chu Hong Minh said she would focus on creating jobs for the youth and supporting startups’ in implementing projects to promote cultural and historical value of Hoan Kiem district; proposing social welfare projects for vulnerable groups; among others.
Candidate Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan said if elected, she would try her best to address concern of the people in Hoan Kiem district, while raising the youth’s awareness in law system.
Candidate Dinh Hai Yen pledged the best efforts to ensure lawful rights of voters and enhance quality in education sector.
