According to Director of the Department of Health Tran Thi Nhi Ha, Hanoi has remained steadfast in pandemic prevention and control measures, and achieved some initial success in the COVID-19 fight.
Warning that the pandemic evolution is still complicated and unpredictable in the city, Ha asked district-level authorities to improve the role of community-based COVID-91 prevention teams so as to timely detect suspected cases.
She ordered to impose strict punishment on pharmacies and private medical facilities that fail to meet safety requirements.
The Department of Health has allocated COVID-19 vaccine to districts for their vaccination campaigns, the health official said, adding Hanoi is trying its best to inoculate all citizens in transparent manner.
Regarding the organization of the high-school entrance exam for the 2021-2022 school year, Ha affirmed that her agencies will closely work with the Department of Education and Training to ensure the success of the exam.
She also urged relevant units to double-check the preparatory work and draw up plans to handle problems which may arise during the examinations.
Addressing the meeting, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung requested all districts to strengthen communication on the fight against COVID-19 and encourage local residents to join hand in the effort.
He underlined the necessity to enhance inspection and strictly punish those violating pandemic prevention regulations.
Concerning vaccination against COVID-19, the vice chairman urged local authorities to focus on completing the task and ensure the best safety.
For the organization of the upcoming 10th-grade entrance exam, he requested localities to review all activities relating to the exam, conduct the drill at 184 contest venues city-wide and roll out scenarios in response to the developments of the pandemic during the exams.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh praised relevant units and local authorities for their good preparation for the high-school entrance exam as well as completing other tasks.
He urged all units and localities to remain vigilant in the COVID-19 fight and make plans to deal with arising issues in any situation.
The localities and units are required to follow instructions of the Government and the municipal authorities to prevent the spread of the virus, set criteria for the reopening of some activities and minimize negative impacts of COVID-19 pandemic on people’s lives.
For the upcoming exam, Anh also urged relevant units to work around the clock and take effective measures to handle all arising situations.
Saying that industrial parks and export processing zones are at high risk for COVID-19 spreading, the city leader urged units update the pandemic situation and tighten the management of employees.
Hanoi is determined to organize the 10th-grade entrance examination in the safest manner possible, Anh affirmed.
