The event saw the attendance of Deputy Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Ba Hoan; Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung; Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Bach Lien Huong, representatives of departments, sectors, enterprises and vocational training schools, and around 6,000 students and laborers.
In her opening speech, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thanh Nhan said that the conference aims to strengthen communication and promote occupational training in an effort to draw more attention from enterprises and workers to the task.
The event is expected to help students and laborers find suitable jobs and careers, and encourage them to take part in the creative start-up movement.
It also provides the good opportunity for vocational training schools and businesses to enhance their cooperation in raising the training quality to meet labor market needs, Nhan stated.
The 2021 conference comprises three main events, including a signing ceremony on cooperation in job training, a career counseling workshop for 9th and 12 graders, and a job transaction session.
Besides, a range of activities are held within the framework of the event, such display introducing a number of start-up models, vocational training equipment for career education schools; demonstration of occupational skills in field of tourism and restaurant services, beauty care and automotive coatings technology, among others.
Emphasizing the importance of linking between vocational education institutions and enterprises in raising the quality of vocational education, improving labor productivity and increasing national competitiveness, Nhan urged local businesses and occupational education establishments to work together to create resources with high occupational skills meeting the requirements of the city and the country’s development.

Addressing the conference, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung described the event as a practical activity in improving the quality of vocational education.
He praised the effort by the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and relevant departments and agencies in holding the event.
Dung also highlighted the companion of local enterprises in vocational training and job creation to meet labor market demand in the era of industrial revolution 4.0.
In order to carry out the city’s policies and instructions as well as the resolution of the Hanoi Party Committee, tenure of 2020-2025 on developing qualified resources and raising competitiveness, the city leader asked departments, branches and units to increase communication and career counseling activities, creating strong changes in vocational training.
Relevant units should cooperate with the Department of Education and Training, district-level authorities and the Hanoi Youth Union to organize more enrollment and career counseling festival festivals in accordance with the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 522/QD-TTg dated May 14, 2018, he ordered.
Dung also requested the Department of Education and Training to serve as an advisor in taking innovative solutions for enrollment and vocational training in association with labor restructuring.
He underscored the necessity to promote digital transformation and application of information technology in training; better implement policies and programs to tighten connection between enterprises and occupational training facilities in human resource training, job creation and startup.
