At the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Head of the Steering Committee for activities to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the People’s Police Tradition Day stressed that the People's police have been contributing greatly to the construction and defense of the Fatherland.
According to Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Police Force, the Ministry of Public Security cooperated with the Hanoi People's Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to build a monument " People's police serve the people " with the purpose of honoring the sacrifice and dedication of the People's Police force in ensuring political security, social order and safety.
According to Ngoc, this is a cultural work with political, historical and traditional educational significance, aiming at raising awareness of the generations of police and people on complying with safety regulations.
On this occasion, Ngoc expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the authorities and people of Hanoi in helping in the construction of the monument.
At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Ha Minh Hai, said that the monument is a recognition of the noble image and great contribution of the Police force in the cause of national liberation struggle, national construction and defense, contributing to the communication and extensive education among the people of Hanoi on the revolutionary tradition of the People's Police force, strengthening the close relationship between the People's Police force and Hanoi dwellers.
According to Hai, for Hanoi, the monument is not only a work of symbolic significance, bearing profound human values of the People's Police force but also is a unique and typical cultural and architectural work that contributes to raising the value of urban landscape and becomes an attractive destination for tourists when coming to the capital.
The monument is located on Tran Nhan Tong street next to the fence of Thong Nhat Park, a place for community activities of locals and international visitors when coming to the capital.
The monument has a height of 7.2m, including 7 characters made of high-tech copper pressed material.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the monument is located at Hoang Van Thu Park, Tan Binh district, expected to be inaugurated in 2023, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Uncle Ho's six teachings to the People's Police.
