According to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, since 1998, the National Week of Clean Water and Environment Protection has been launched from April 29 to May 6 annually by the Government, contributing to improving living condition of rural people, especially the children.
The National Week of Clean Water and Environment Protection 2017 is themed “Clean water and environment protection for comprehensive development of children”. Time to launch and respond to the campaign is from April 15 to May 15; it can be extended until World Environment Day on June 5, and combined with activities to celebrate April 30 and May 1 as well as other celebrations in localities.
According to their conditions, localities organize practical and efficient activities in response to the National Week of Clean Water and Environment Protection 2017; organize meetings in places with attendance of local agencies, unions, governments at all levels, students and people from all walks of life; encourage people to clean up the environment, maintain water supply works and sanitation works; organize visits to water supply works and sanitation works in association with popularization of environment, water resource protection as well as efficient management and use of the works.
Furthermore, the localities launch communications campaigns through activities of the Youth Unions, schools, social and political organizations in the areas, hence improving people’s knowledge and behavior of clean water and sanitation; encourage people to join hands to fix water supply works and clean up the environment at households, schools and public places.
