Hanoi is determined to organize the 10th-grade entrance examination in the safest manner possible (21:24 10/06/2021)
According to a report of the Department of Education and Training, Hanoi has a total of 93,363 students registering to take the high-school entrance exam in the 2021-2022 school year, with 3,988 rooms at 184 contest venues citywide.
The department has mobilized 14,484 officials, teachers and staffs to carry out the tasks relating to the exams.
As of 10am on June 7, Hanoi reported 14 F1s, 5 F2 students and 16 others in areas under blockade.
In the context of the complicated COVID-19 situation, the department in collaboration with district-level authorities and relevant units have worked out detailed plans to ensure safety during the exam.
In an effort to ensure the best conditions for the exam, all 30 districts and towns hosted rehearsals on June 6-8 for the 10th grade entrance tests in the context of the progression of the COVID-19 epidemic.
The drill features different scenarios of the complicated evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic so as for the authorities to take measures to respond to as well as deal with arising problems and ensure utmost safety for students.
At the meeting with district-level authorities, the localities reported that they have made thorough preparations for the exam.
Particularly, the districts have mapped out scenarios in line with actual conditions and developments of the epidemic, while planning to maintain smooth traffic and ensure food safety and hygiene.
For the kindergarten, first grade and 6th grade admissions, in the 2021-2022 academic year, Hanoi will launch the online registration.
The enrollment window for students starting kindergarten is between July 15-17, those starting first grade at primary school July 12-14 and July 18-20 for those entering sixth grade at secondary school. Meanwhile, parents can register directly at schools from July 23-28.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung said that this year's 10th grade entrance exam takes place amid the COVID-19 outbreaks.
In order to ensure safety for the exam, the municipal authorities decided to adjust the exam schedule and time, he added.
Regarding key tasks in the coming time, Dung assigned relevant departments and local authorities to continue carrying out the city’s guidance, and strengthen communication on changes in the admission examinations as well as the fight against COVID-19.
The Department of Education and Training is requested to cooperate with relevant units to successfully host the upcoming exam.
Regarding identification of F0, F1, F2 cases and those in blockaded areas, the vice chairman said that heads of local governments will be held the responsibility for the task.
He also asked for special attention from local authorities to fighting the pandemic and ensuring safety for the exam.
Hanoi is determined to hold the exam in safe and serious manner, Dung affirmed.
