Son Tay town requested to try its best to safeguard “green zones” (22:03 15/09/2021)


HNP - An inspection team led by Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s Hanoi Committee Nguyen Lan Huong had a working session with Son Tay town on September 14 on COVID-19 prevention and control work.



The delegation also conducted checks on a vaccination center set uo at the town’s gymnasium.
 
According to a report of the local authorities, Son Tay has gone through 50 consecutive days without new COVID-19 infections in the community.
 
The town has conducted five phases of mass testing for high-risk groups. More than 7,000 samples were collected for rapid coronavirus test from August 5 to September 13.
 
Regarding vaccination against COVID-19, the task forces have set up 19 vaccination sites with 40 injection lines. The campaign has taken place in safe manner. To date, more than 8,000 vaccine doses have been administered, meeting 87.8% of the plan.
 
In realizing Resolution No. 68/NQ-TTg, Son Tay has delivered the Government’s support worth over VND2.5  billion to pandemic-hit people.
 
Since September 6, the local authorities have planned to set up safe zones, including 940 residential areas and nearly 37,500 households. In addition, safe market and safe supermarket models have been established in the town.
 
The town’s health sector has enhanced mass screening to timely detect and isolate suspected cases from the community, while assisting the frontline forces to combat the pandemic in the locality.
 
Especially, the town has tried its best to boost economic recovery and development.
 
Addressing the session, VFF’s Hanoi Committee Chairwoman Nguyen Lan Huong praised the town for its effort to achieve the success in containing the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
She urged the town to make more effort to complete mass testing and vaccination as planned.
 
Son Tay should strengthen communication on vaccination among local people with the motto “the best vaccine is the one that is available”, Huong suggested, asking for more effort to vaccinate all people aged over 18.
 
The Front official ordered the local government to safeguard green zones, and make preparations for COVID-19 development response.
 
Special attention should be paid to maintaining social welfare and deploying the central and the city’s social security policies to timely aid people facing difficulties due to the pandemic.
 
Huong also requested Son Tay to map out a plan to expand business and production and promote economic recovery so as to fulfill socio-economic targets set for 2021.
 
On the occasion, Huong present VND10 million in cash and essential goods to the town’s health center to comfort on-duty medical staff.
