Speaking at the session, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue urged Hoang Mai to work harder to become a "growth pole", contributing to the development of the southern region of Hanoi.
According to a report by Nguyen Quang Hieu, Secretary of the Hoang Mai district Party Committee and Chairman of the district people’s Council, amid the COVID-19 outbreak, the local administration has focused on comprehensively rolling out tasks this year.
Notably, effectively realizing Directive 35-CT/TW of the Politburo and other guiding documents of the municipal Party Committee on organizing Party assemblies at all levels, the district Party Committee successfully held it 4th congress, tenure of 2020-2025.

In 2020, Hoang Mai has successfully implemented the dual task of containing the COVID-19 pandemic and boosting socio-economic development.
All 15 socio-economic development targets in 2020 have been fulfilled or surpassed. Particularly, the district recorded an economic growth rate of 7.74%. Total budget revenue reached over VND6.16 trillion, exceeding the estimate by 0.2%. Meanwhile, local budget spending was estimated at VND2.26 trillion, meeting 95% of the estimate.
Special attention has been paid to socio-cultural development. Social welfare has been guaranteed. The local authorities have timely provided the support worth VND17.3 billion to those hit by the pandemic.
Besides, Hoang Mai district has kept an eye on construction, urban management and development. As a result, the local agency completed site clearance for eight projects while putting into use key transport works.
The report also showed shortcomings and weaknesses during the district’s performance of the tasks in 2020.
At the meeting, the district leader made his recommendations to the city leaders on accelerating local development in the time to come.
