Huu Lung district is home to many Hanoians who in the past resettled here under the vision of the government to help develop economy in remote areas. Since late 1961, nearly 1,000 Hanoi’s youth had voluntarily moved to Huu Lung district to contribute to economic development in the area.
So far, Hanoi’s people settling down in Huu Lung district have totalled over 10,500, accounting for 10% of the population in the district. Those from Hanoi have been actively contributing to socio-economic-cultural development of Huu Lung district, while many public staffs and Party members from Hanoi are holding major positions in the local government.
Over the past years, Huu Lung district has been receiving strong support from Hanoi, in which the latter donated dozens of billions of Vietnamese dong to build public infrastructure in the area. In 2019, Hanoi supported VND20 billion to build the Huu Lung cultural house.
After one year of construction, the project has been completed and put into operation, in which the construction cost is estimated at VND33.5 billion.
Chairman of the Huu Lung district People’s Committee Bui Quoc Khanh said the project is a symbol of cooperation between Hanoi and Huu Lung district.
