In attendance were PCC member and Deputy Head of the PCC's Commission for Education and Communications Pham Tat Thang, Chairwoman of the VFF's Hanoi committee Nguyen Lan Huong, Head of the municipal Party Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization Nguyen Doan Toan, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Doan Toan, and heads of social - political organizations.
A report delivered at the meeting showed that in the third quarter of 2021, the VFF, political and social organizations have followed the city's political missions and encouraged officials, members and people to join hands with the city to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
The organizations have cooperated with all levels and sectors to timely roll out the city's documents on mass mobilization, especially during the implementation of social distancing measures under the PM's directive 16.
The VFF and mass organizations have made more efforts to conduct social supervision and criticism, while giving opinions on building the Party and government in accordance with Decisions No. 217-QD/TW and 218-QD/TW dated December 12, 2013 of the Politburo (tenure 11).
Special attention has been paid to monitoring the implementation of social welfare policies to help businesses and employees facing difficulties due to the pandemic, and the Government's Resolution No. 21/NQ-CP regarding COVID-19 vaccine purchase and use.
Over the past nine months, VFF's chapters at all levels have received donations worth over VND539 billion from businesses, organizations and individuals in support of the city's COVID-19 fight.
The VFF's municipal committee has delivered medical equipment and support to forces joining COVID-19 prevention and control, while giving financial assistance to people and foreigners working and studying in the city who are facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Concluding the meeting, Permanent Deputy Secretary Nguyen Thi Tuyen praised the VFF, political and social organizations for their effort in fighting COVID-19. So far, the city has basically put the pandemic under control, she added.
According to Tuyen, Hanoi has tried its best to deliver the support totaling more than VND1.4 trillion to virus-hit people despite the impact of COVID-19 on its economic development.
She also lauded proactive engagement of the VFF, political and social organizations in organizing elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels as well as building the Party and political system.
Stressing that Hanoi would ease COVID-19 restriction measures in the coming time, Tuyen asked the organizations to follow the municipal authorities' guiding documents and encourage local people to safely adapt to the pandemic and abide by the 5K message and counter measures set by the Ministry of Health.
She also requested the organization to do their utmost to fulfill set targets in the remaining months, strengthen social supervision and criticism, and consolidate the Party building, among others.
On the occasion, Permanent Deputy Secretary Tuyen handed over the PM's certificates of merit to Hanoi War Veterans' Association.
