Hanoi Party official checks election preparation and COVID-19 prevention work in Hai Ba Trung district (09:36 12/05/2021)
According to a report of the district Party Committee, all preparations for the upcoming elections have been carried out in line with the law and progressing on schedule.
Particularly, the district Election Committee organized eight conferences on disseminating and rolling out election preparations as well as election training.
From April 10 - 29, the electoral rolls have been publicly posted at polling stations in the area.
On May 2, the district finished publishing a list of candidates running for seats in the National Assembly and candidates for People’s Councils at all levels at polling stations and in headquarters of communes and wards in accordance with the law.
For COVID-19 prevention and control, Hai Ba Trung district has established a 33-member steering committee headed by the chairperson of the district People’s Committee.
The local authorities have released four plans to ensure the sufficient supply of necessities for residents in areas under lockdown.
As many 1,1622 COVID-19 inspection teams in residential areas have been resumed, with the participation of 3,037 people.
From January 1 to May 10, the district confirmed three new cases of COVID-19. The local task forces have worked hard to prevent the spread of the novel virus.
Concluding the working session, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong said the district is at high risk of COVID-19 infections.
Being well aware of the situation, the local authorities have attached great importance to mobilizing the entire political system in the fight against the pandemic, so the coronavirus outbreaks have been put under control, he noted.
Due to the complicated evolution of the pandemic, Phong asked the district to be more responsible and take drastic measures to stamp out the disease.
The local task forces should better manage two concentrated quarantine camps and enhance inspection of COVID-19 prevention work, he ordered.
He requested for specific plans to respond to the different development of COVID-19 and ensure the success of the upcoming elections.
Stressing the importance of the elections, the Deputy Secretary recognized and praised the effort of the local administration in carefully preparing for the events.
He urged the local authorities to maintain social security and order, while reviewing the electoral rolls to ensure their voting rights.
The district must carefully map out scenarios for COVID-19 prevention and control to ensure safety during the elections, the Party official stressed, ordering special attention to organizing voting for those in centralized quarantine areas.
