At the meeting, all seven candidates presented their action programs, while expressing their commitments to forward people’s concern to the municipal People’s Council, People’s Committee and other competent authorities.
Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh presented his action program with five key points if elected. As such, the mayor said he would realize his role as a deputy for the People’s Council in urging the authorities to draft policies for speeding up socio-economic development.
“I would focus my priority on urban development, including construction planning and environmental protection; technical infrastructure development; and the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in Hanoi,” said Anh.
Along with such efforts, Anh said he would continue to improve efficiency in operation of the municipal People’s Committee, while maintaining the close linkage between voters and other local agencies.
Secretary of the Dong Da district Party Committee Dinh Truong Tho said his priority is to relay voters’ concern to the People Council, aiming to ensure lawful rights of voters and people.
Tho expected greater improvements in fields of administrative reform, land management, planning, environmental protection, education and culture in Dong Da district.
Former university lecturer Nguyen Tang Cuong said given his experience in the education sector, he would contribute to the finalization of polices for the development of Hanoi’s education sector.
Deputy Head of the Urban Department under the city’s People Council Hoang Thi Thuy Hang said she would supervise the process of addressing concern of voters, while improving efficiency in supervision works of the People’s Council.
Candidate Vu Thi Thanh Tu said she expects to contribute to the perfection of the Capital Law along with specialized mechanism to ensure further socio-economic development of Hanoi.
Candidate Nguyen Quang Tuan said he would focus on dealing with recommendations and concern from voters in the field of education and training, aiming to boost a comprehensive reform in this sector.
Chairwoman of the Hang Bot ward Vietnam Fatherland Front said she would actively participate in drafting solutions to boost socio-economic development, security-defense, while working with other deputies of the People’s Council in supervising the authorities’ implementation of resolutions from the People’s Council.
