At the meeting, delegates provided their suggestion to the draft working mechanism of each member in the Steering Committee, as well as discussed main contents in the document No.212/TTr/BCSD dated April 17, 2021 submitted to the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee on drafting mechanism to rebuild and repair old apartments in Hanoi.
So far, the city has a total of 1,579 old apartment builidings built during the 1960-1994 period and before 1954.
The quality of most of old apartment complexes, mainly in the city’s downtown, have degraded, posing risks to people living inside.
After a review process, the city identifies 42 old condominiums at level 1, 1,449 at level 2, 88 at level 3, and 25 are being repaired to ensure safety for the people’ assessing the safety level of 401 apartments, including 148 at B level, 245 at C level, 8 at D level.
So far, 18 apartment projects have been completed and put into operation thanks to the three models of using capital, including state capital, private capital with support from the city, and private capital.
Meanwhile, difficulties remain during the implementation process, including the reviewing and appraising of reparation plan, investors selection, site clearance process, resettlement plan, among others.
Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh highlighted recommendations provided at the meeting, saying more efforts needed to perfect the proposal for later submission to the National Assembly on this issue.
