Hanoi mayor calls for donations to COVID-19 fight (09:55 22/06/2021)


HNP - The Party Committee - the People’s Council - the People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi held an event themed “Hanoi joins hands in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic” on June 19 at the Friendship Cultural Palace.

In attendance were Politburo member and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Do Van Chien; PCC member and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party  Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen; PCC member, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh; Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan; Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong, and leaders of the city’s departments and branches. 

 

Addressing the ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh said that in realizing Conclusion No.7 dated June 11, 2021 of the Politburo as well as in response to the call “All people stay united and join hands to prevent and fight against COVID-19 epidemic” of the State President, the VFF’s Central Committee and the Prime Minister  at the launching ceremony of the COVID-19 vaccine fund on June 5, 2021, the administration and people of Hanoi have grasped the spirit of “fight the pandemic is like fighting an enemy”, and have made their utmost effort to carry out the expanded immunization program.
 
According to him, over the past time, the entire political system has proactively engaged in the fight against COVID-19.
 
All-level Party organizations, authorities, VFF’s committees and people have promoted the strength of the national unity and shared their responsibilities for pandemic prevention and control, and socio-economic development.
 
Since the fourth wave of COVID-19 hit the country on April 27, Hanoi has drastically undertaken comprehensive measures in order to prevent the spread of the pandemic. To date, the city has gone through six consecutive days without local transmissions.
 
Hanoi mayor Chu Ngoc Anh recognized and praised agencies, businesses, organizations and residents for their support for the city’s COVID-19 fight over the past time.
 
He also lauded the effort of the frontline anti-pandemic forces who are directly involved in the prevention of the pandemic and treatment of patients.
