The report showed that Hanoi has planted a total of 23,850 trees in the first quarter of 2021. The new trees will be planted at historical and cultural relics, new urban buildings, public works, schools, hospitals, parks and along roads.
The capital city has set up a plan to implement a project on growing 1 billion trees in Vietnam during the 2021 - 2025 period which was initiated by the Prime Minister.
Also, special attention will be paid to realizing the Government’s Resolution No. 178/NQ-CP dated December 12, 2020 and the PM’s Directive No. 45/CT-TTg dated December 31, 2020 on launching the tree-planting movement and enhancing forest protection and development from the beginning of 2021.
For the next five years, Hanoi targets to build five parks, including Kim Quy, CV1, South West Urban Area, Phung Khoang Lake, and Chu Van An, while upgrading 12 parks and 33 gardens in inner-city districts.
The city continues to focus on managing, caring and pruning trees to ensure safety in the storm season and create beautiful landscapes.
