Total revenue from domestic tourism activities is estimated at VND322 billion (US$14.4 million), down 60.3% compared to the same period last year.
According to the Department of Tourism, most international arrivals during the month were foreign experts and workers who came to work in the capital city.
It is estimated that 2.89 million domestic visitors arrived in Hanoi over the first five months of 2021, down 6.7% over the same period last year.
The capital city has earned VND8.1 trillion in tourism revenue during the period, posting a decrease of 50.7% year on year.
The Department of Tourism has issued documents asking units, businesses, organizations and individuals providing tourism services in the city to strengthen anti-pandemic measures in the new situation.
