Hanoi welcomes South Korean investors (20:05 11/08/2022)


HNP - On August 11, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh received Chairman of the Korea-Vietnam Economic and Cultural Association Kim Kil Soo, who is on a working trip to Vietnam, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea (1992-2022).  



At the meeting, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh welcomed Chairman of the Korea-Vietnam Economic and Cultural Association (KOVECA) Kim Kil Soo   and wish him a successful business trip in Vietnam.

KOVECA Chairman affirmed that he wishes to help Hanoi attain greener and cleaner development in the future through waste treatment and wastewater treatment projects. In addition, Kim also shared with the Hanoi’s authorities experiences in waste treatment and water treatment and hoped KOVECA would contribute to building a green - clean - beautiful Hanoi, contributing to the development of the city.

On this occasion, KOVECA presented the city an organic waste treatment machine, which would turn waste into useful fertilizer. This device was donated to Hoan Kiem district in the hope of contributing to solving environmental problems in Hanoi.

Sincerely thanking KOVECA for the machine, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh said that  it will help Hoan Kiem district and the city do well in waste management and environmental protection. The Chairman of the City People's Committee suggested that Hoan Kiem district properly evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the machine for widespread use.

According to Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, the city always welcomes and supports South Korean businesses wishing to invest and do business in Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular. At the same time, he affirmed that the authorities will ensure security and safety for South Korean citizens living and working in the area. Through KOVECA, Chairman of the City People's Committee wishes that South Korean businesses that employ Vietnamese workers in South Korea always pay attention and create favorable conditions for workers.

Earlier, at the Prime Minister's dialogue with South Korean businesses in early August 2022, some outstanding issues of Hanoi were raised. According to the Thanh, right after the dialogue, Hanoi had worked on solutions to solve difficulties for businesses.

Thanking the goodwill of the KOVECA for Hanoi, Thanh assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to be the focal point in receiving technologies for waste and waste water treatment with the South Korean agency.
