For the 2021-2026 term, 35 delegates will be elected to the district People’s Councils. After the third consultation meeting, the district approved a list of 59 nominated candidates for the upcoming election.
Among the candidates, 25 are women, one from minority ethnic group, nine are not members of the Party, and 21 are under 40 years old.
As of 17.00 on March 14, the Election Committee handed over dossiers of 73 candidates for the district People’s Council election.
After the second consultation meeting, the district VFF’s committee held meetings to collect voters' feedback at the place of residence or workplace on candidates.
On April 10, People’s Councils of 11 wards announced the official candidate list. From May 4 to 21, the district VFF’s committee will hold meetings between the candidates and voters.
Thanh Xuan has strengthened communication about the upcoming elections, while effectively implementing COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
Concluding the working session, Chairwoman of the VFF’s Hanoi committee Nguyen Lan Huong lauded the district’s effort in preparing for the upcoming elections in a democratic and transparent manner in line with regulations.
She asked the local authorities to better carry out Directive 45 of the Politburo and Directive 35 of the municipal Party Committee on election work.
Huong asked for stronger communications about the election of deputies to the 15th NA and People’s Councils at all levels on mass media.
