Hanoi Party chief Dinh Tien Dung meets South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam (19:33 03/08/2022)

HNP - On August 2, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Head of the Hanoi National Assembly deputies delegation Dinh Tien Dung received the South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Park Noh-wan.  

Sharing at the meeting, Ambassador Park Noh-wan said that Hanoi and the South Korean business community need a mechanism to address issues that may emerge. At the same time, he expressed his hope that Hanoi would soon direct to solve some difficulties and problems that South Korean businesses are facing, such as at the project of shopping complex in Tay Ho Tay urban area, or Charmvit Group's project in Soc Son.

According to the South Korean Ambassador, currently, many South Korean businesses want to invest in green growth, the environment and combating climate change, as well as smart urban projects and waste treatment, especially sorting waste from source in Hanoi. In that context, Ambassador Park Noh-wan proposed that the two sides coordinate to organize a workshop with the participation of investors to explore future cooperation opportunities.

The Ambassador emphasized that in 2022, Vietnam and South Korea will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (December 22, 1992 - December 22, 2022). He called for Hanoi to become the focus of the cooperation relationship between the two countries, first of all through cultural events taking place from now until the end of the year in Hoan Kiem district and surrounding areas.

At the meeting, Secretary of the City Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung expressed his understanding of the difficulties faced by South Korean businesses over the past time, emphasizing the Covid-19 pandemic is one of the factors causing many obstacles in economic and trade activities.

 Dung highly appreciated the desire of South Korean businesses to participate in projects on environment and waste treatment in Hanoi; he emphasized that the city  always   welcomes investors. Thanking the great contribution of Korean businesses in the development process of Hanoi, the Secretary of the City Party Committee affirmed that the authorities will always strive to improve the investment environment and administrative procedures, so that the cooperation between the two sides is more and more favorable.

Dung also expressed support for plans to organize a cultural program on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea in the central area of​​Hanoi.
