Hanoi Party Committee’s Standing Board works with Department of Public Security (07:46 20/08/2021)


HNP - The Hanoi Party Committee’s Standing Board had a working session with the Party Committee of the city’s Department of Public Security on August 18 to review its seven-month performance and map out major tasks for the time ahead.

The event was co-chaired by Politburo member and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung; member of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen; PCC member, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh; Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan; and Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong.
 
Effort to roll out all tasks
 
Giving a report at the working session, Major General Dao Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Department of Public Security, said that the police has strictly followed directives and resolutions of the central and the city authorities. 
 
According to him, since the beginning of the year, the municipal police have launched three campaigns to crack down on crimes. The number of criminal case, traffic accidents, fires and explosions has been decreasing. 
 
All particularly serious cases have been investigated. 21 cases have been closed so far and five others are being processed now. 
 
The department has worked hard to complete the project to create a national population and citizen identification database. 
 
As one of the frontline forces in the fight against COVID-19, the department has issued nearly 60 guiding documents and advised the city on the establishment of more than 4,600 COVID-19 community-based groups to tighten the control of local residents.

The police have set up 23 COVID-19 checkpoints at the city’s gateways and 44 other on main roads to control all flows of vehicles and people entering/leaving the capital city. 
 
As many as 800 mobile inspection teams have been established to ensure the strict compliance with pandemic prevention and control regulations.
 
At the session, the delegates focused on discussing advantages, shortcomings, difficulties and entanglements relating to social security and order, while resolving and answering the petitions of the police. 
 
Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh said that over the past seven months, the police have been facing many huge  challenges, however, the forces have been proactive in all situations and made utmost effort to ensure absolute political security for events which took place in the city.

Concluding the session, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung praised the city’s Department of Public Security for attaining remarkable achievements during the January-July period. 
 
Stressing that the task of maintaining social security is facing challenges, he urged the department to focus on building strong and transparent Party cells, and working out a comprehensive solution to improve the Party leadership. 
 
The department should continue to consolidate its leadership with an orientation towards leanness, effectiveness and efficiency, he suggested, asking for special attention to the building of revolutionary, regular, elite, gradually modern police forces.
 
In order to effectively carry out Program No. 09-CTr/TU dated March 17, 2021 of the municipal Party Committee on strengthening defense and security potential, maintaining political security, social order and safety in Hanoi for the 2021-2025 period, Dung requested the department to grasp the security and order situation, take the initiative in all situation, and ensure absolute safety  for key targets and events in the area.
 
The police must continue to take strong measures to fight against all crimes, especially those relating to crimes relating to usury, child abuse, corruption and smuggling, he ordered. 
 
Regarding COVID-19 prevention and control, the Hanoi Party chief highlighted the important role of the police in the fight against the pandemic. 
 
The police need to better implement Directive No. 05-CT/TU dated July 30, 2021 of the municipal Party Committee’s Standing Board, and consider containing the COVID-19 pandemic as top priority, he noted.
