Speaking at the reception, Chairman of the municipal Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung expressed his delight at the success of the VBS’s 8th congress for the 2017 – 2020 tenure. He also congratulated Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon for being elected Chairman of the VBS’s 8th Executive Council.
On the occasion, the Municipal People’s Committee’s Chairman thanked monks, nuns and followers for their positive participation in campaigns of all people unite to build cultural life, developing economy, raising funds for flood victims, the poor, etc, contributing to ensuring political security, developing the country in general and Ha Noi in particular.
The Chairman voiced his hope that in the coming time, the VBS’s Central Committee will continue accompanying with the capital’s authorities and people in building a more civilized and prosperous capital city.

For his part, Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon expressed his sincere thanks for Ha Noi’s special support contributing to the success of the 8th congress. He also stressed that the VBS would increase more efforts to encourage monks, nuns and followers to live and work according to the Constitution and laws. Along with the people, the VBS would also make significant contributions to building a more civilized and prosperous country.
