Hanoi’s vocational schools urged to enhance quality (21:18 25/09/2020)


HNP - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy held a meeting with 21 public vocational schools on September 24, regarding their performance in the past nine months and objectives for the rest months of the year.

At the meeting, Vice Director of Hanoi’s Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thanh Nhan said as of present, 21 public vocational schools have been actively in the recruiting process in 2020, aiming to overcome difficulties from the Covid-19 and realizing targets set for the year. 
 
In addition to positive results, the municipal Department noted shortcomings remain during this process, including the low number of students recruited at high school and college level of 48.2% of the target. 
 
The Department proposed the local government to continue supporting vocational schools in upgrading educational facilities for higher quality in training process. 
 
Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy said the result remained positive amid the Covid-19 pandemic, while requesting schools to enhance their quality in providing training services. The target is to enhance post- graduate employability rate, while putting more efforts in disbursing public funds for investment. 
 
Quy said in order for the future workforce to meet requirements of modernization and Industry 4.0, not only universities but also vocational schools have to enhance their quality and be more focus in investment. Moreover, schools should continue to train their staffs regarding Covid-19 preventive measures.
