The 2019 Hanoi Culinary Culture Festival features famous specialties not only from Hanoi but also from the northern, central, and southern regions to domestic and foreign visitors through various activities.
The event gathers about 50 to 70 booths featuring delicious traditional dishes from around the country. Along with enjoying the food, visitors can also witness the cooking process and the cooking skills of local chefs from various areas.

This year’s festival features the culture and landscape of the three main regions. For example, northern food is presented in recreated stilt houses from Ha Giang and traditional houses from Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Food from the central and southern regions is served in recreations of Hoi An's Old Quarter and Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh City.
Visitors have a chance to join in exchanges with artisans, researchers of Hanoi while enjoying artistic performances and folk games.
Addressing the event, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy said that the festival introduces the food culture of Hanoi in particular and the nation in general.
He called on all locals to participate in the festival with civilized and polite behavior in public areas, and promote the delicate, elegant and friendly features of Hanoians.
The Vice Chairman also hoped that each local would serve as an ambassador to promote beauty of cuisine culture of Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general.
The festival will run until June 9.
