Speaking at the reception, Deputy Foreign Minister of Finland Elina Kalkku expressed her nice surprise and pleasure at great changes of Ha Noi.
She affirmed that Finland will be already to support and cooperate with Ha Noi in fields of smart city construction, wastewater treatment and urban development. She said that Finland also pays special attention to tourism development in the capital city.
In turn, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung expressed his sincere thanks to the Finnish Government for its assistance to Ha Noi in particular and Viet Nam in general over the past years.
He also agreed with the guest’s proposals to boost the cooperation between Ha Noi and the Government of Finland in many fields in the coming time.
On the occasion, the city leader gave information of some projects in Ha Noi in the future. Particularly, Ha Noi will focus on developing a clean water supply system meeting European standards. And the city will make its specific plan on clean water supply for its residents and call on private investors to update filtering technology up to European standards, he added.
According to the city authority, Ha Noi has been paying attention to building solid waste treatment plants meeting European technology standards in urban areas and industrial parks.
Currently, solid waste treatment system is imported from Austria with the target of re-using waste. By 2020, industrial parks and urban areas of Ha Noi are expected to have waste treatment stations with modern technology.
Regarding to e-government, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said that Ha Noi has deployed many tasks, especially public services for local people.
The city also called on investors to build a new data center to meet people’s demands in fields of healthcare and education.
The Chairman said that Ha Noi considers solutions for effective traffic management, criminal prevention and control, fire fighting and emergency.
