At Winmart Smart City (Vincom Mega Mall Smart City - Nam Tu Liem) and Savico Megamall (Long Bien), Vice Governor Phouvong Vongkhamsao and the delegation were informed about the process of purchasing, gathering, packing goods and agricultural products before being put into supermarkets and commercial centers for consumption. The Vientiane’s Vice Governor hoped that WinCommerce and Savico Megamall can purchase goods and agricultural products of Vientiane enterprises and sell them in their supermarket systems.
Deputy Director of Hanoi Promotion Agency (HPA) Nguyen Thi Mai Anh said the agency stands ready to support Laos companies in selling their products in Hanoi’s market, and noted there will be an online connection program between Lao manufacturing enterprises and distributors and retailers in Vietnam market such as: Big C, AEON MALL, Hapro, Co.op Mart, among others.
Through these programs, retailers will inform and introduce to Lao production units the technical standards to bring goods to supermarkets; providing information on the application of new technology trends in packaging and packaging of international standards. From there, Lao enterprises would better grasp the needs of Vietnamese consumers, in turn conducting research, building and developing Lao product brands in Vietnam.
From a business perspective, WinCommerce also expects that after this visit, the authorities of the two cities will organize more trade exchanges, as well as fairs for businesses to have the opportunity to access product supplies from Laos to Vietnam. At the same time, it is hoped that the Vientiane government will cooperate with the Hanoi People's Committee to create favorable conditions for WinCommerce to approach Lao businesses and jointly promote the development of trade between the two sides, thereby diversify source of goods supply for residents and consumers of both cities.
In order to support businesses in Vientiane to introduce and find partners to sell products, the HPA and Savico Megamall Shopping Center would support 17 Vientiane businesses to display agricultural products, handicrafts, textiles, and Lao specialties in Hanoi from now until the end of October 14, 2022. The WinMart chain also introduced to the high-level delegation of Vientiane regional agricultural products such as Quang Ninh squid rolls, vegetables, Song Da fish, Son La vegetables, and fruits of localities across the country. At the same time, WinMart representative also introduced procedures to better serve customers during their buying experience at the supermarkets.
