HNP - Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung led a delegation to work with the authority of Hoai Duc District on July 29 on measures against the COVID-19 pandemic in the area.

The delegation included members of the municipal Party Committee’s Standing Commission: Head of the municipal Party Committee’s Commission for Organization Vu Duc Bao, Director of the Department of Public Security Nguyen Hai Trung, Commander of the Capital High Command Nguyen Quoc Quyet; Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung, and leaders of relevant department and branches.

The secretary inspected enforcement of COVID-19 prevention and control regulations at the Lai Xa Industrial Park in Kim Chung Commune; the Tram Troi Primary Schools, a concentrated quarantine camp in Hoai Duc District; and other areas.

The delegation had a working session with the Party Committee of Hoai Duc District on COVID-19 prevention work.

According to a report of the local government, from July 18 to 6pm on July 28, the district confirmed 30 cases of COVID-19, including 16 detected in the community. More than 320 F1 and over 2,300 F1 contacts have been identified.

After the municipal People’s Committee issued Directive 17/CT-UBND  on July 23, the district set up 4721 COVID-19 checkpoints, with the participation of 1,226 people.

At the session, the participants reviewed the district’s performance of COVID-19 prevention and control measures under the city’s directive 17, while pointing out some shortcomings and weaknesses which need to be addressed.

Making conclusions at the meeting, Secretary Dinh Tien Dung asked all-level authorities and people to strictly comply with social distancing measures under the directive 17 to soon stamp out the pandemic.

He ordered Commands for COVID-19 prevention and control  of districts and towns to work around the clock in response to the pandemic situation.

Chairpersons of district-level People’s Committees would be held accountable for pandemic prevention and control as well as have full authority to direct anti-epidemic forces in the localities, the municipal Party chief stressed.

Highlighting major contents of the directive, Dung urged Hoai Duc District to set up checkpoints in villages and hamlets, mobilize more task forces and prepare long-term plans against the pandemic.

The locality should promote the role of COVID-19 community-based teams to timely detect suspected cases, he suggested.

He asked People’s Committees at all level to monitor the compliance with the directive in all agencies, units, businesses, industrial parks and industrial clusters in the areas, and strictly punish cases violating pandemic prevention rules.

In an effort to proactively respond to the evolution of the pandemic, the secretary required the local authorities to plan to establish more quarantine facilities to meet the demand.

Dung also requested all districts and towns to soon deliver the support for enterprises and people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in line with Resolution No. 68/NQ-CP issued by the Government.

Hanoi applied strict social distancing measures across the city from 6am on Saturday July 24 to prevent further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The measures to stamp out worsening outbreaks of COVID-19 have been in place for 15 days and follow the Prime Minister's Directive 16.
