HNP - Hanoi confirmed 15 new COVID-19 infected cases between 6pm on October 16 and 6am on October 17, reported the municipal Department of Health.

In particular, six new cases were found in Hoan Kiem, two each in Nam Tu Liem, Hoang Mai and Long Bien districts, and one each in Phu Xuyen, My Duc and Me Linh districts.

Of the latest infections, nine are related to the Vietnam-German Friendship Hospital, and five others are those returning from coronavirus-hit regions.

Since the fourth wave of coronavirus hit the country in late April, Hanoi has documented 4,106 COVID-19 cases, including 1,606 detected in the community.

Local people are required to strictly abide by the 5K message and countermeasures set by the Ministry of Health so as to soon put the pandemic under control.

Those showing symptoms of cough, sore throat, high body temperature, fatigue, reduction or loss of taste are required to contact with the nearest medical facility for COVID-19 testing to timely deter community transmission.

People could give their feedback about the pandemic prevention work via hotline number 1022, mobile apps like Zalo, Bluezone.
