Chu Ngoc Anh and Nguyen Thanh Long paid a visit to vaccination center set up at Trinh Hoai Duc Gymnasium in Dong Da district.
According to the head of the district People’s Committee, the locality received nearly 86,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses this phase. The task forces are working hard to finish the campaign as scheduled.
Dong Da has strengthened communication on immunization program among local residents, with the motto “the best vaccine is the one available”.
At vaccination center of Phuc Loi ward, Long Bien district, Chairman Anh and Minister Long conducted checks on stages of the vaccination chain. They comforted medical forces from Bac Giang province who are on duty here to help Hanoi’s mass vaccination and screening.
Long affirmed, “in order to loosens social distancing measures and bring life back to new normal, we have to screen for coronavirus infections in the community to deter community transmission”, stressing that mass testing plays a crucial role of mass testing in fight against COVID-19.
Underlining the need to soon to give all citizens aged over 18 the first vaccine jab so as to reach herd immunity, Long said that Hanoi’s mass COVID-19 vaccination is being conducted successfully.
Hanoi can now administer more than 300,000 doses daily, the highest amount so far, he told, hoping that the city would fulfill its target of vaccinating all of its population aged over 18 by September 16.
As of September 9, Hanoi has vaccinated around 2.9 million people with at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot, and over 317,000 people have been fully inoculated, according to the municipal health department. Around 57% of adults in the city have received at least one vaccine shot.
