According to Director of Thang Long Tobacco Company Nguyen Huu Kien, in an effort to prevent the pandemic, the company has set up its Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention and control since 2020.
Since January 27, the company has issued 18 guiding documents on measures against the disease.
Along with strengthening communication on the COVID-19 combat among employees under diversified ways, the company has updated the pandemic situation to raise their responsibility for the enforcement of epidemic prevention measures.
All employees are required to install and use the health declaration and contact tracing application on their smartphones to serve the fight against the pandemic.
The company has also put in place preventive measures to ensure safety for its workers, such as wearing a mask, washing hands, checking body temperature and making health declarations, among others.
Since the fourth wave of COVID-19 hit the country on April 27, Thang Long Tobacco Company has recorded one F1, 46 F2s and 46 other contacts. Now, all are negative for the virus.
Notably, joining hands with the Government and people nationwide to combat the pandemic, the company donated VND20 billion to the national COVID vaccine fund.
• At Meiko Electronics Vietnam Company, Deputy General Director Ida Shuji said that being well aware of the important role of the COVID-19 fight, the company has established its steering committee for pandemic prevention and control in charge of directing the implementation of coronavirus- countermeasures as guided by the Government, the Ministry of Health and the municipal People’s Committee.
The company has placed various measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
In order to contain the pandemic as well as ensure production stability, the two companies proposed the municipal People’s Committee, the Department of Health and functional agencies to deploy COVID-19 vaccination for their employees.

Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen praised the companies for strictly following COVID-19 prevention and control regulations, asking them continue strong measures to keep workers safe.
Quyen noted that the companies should draw up detailed scenarios and cooperate with local authorities to respond to the complex situation of the pandemic.
The Vice Chairman also requested People’s Committees of Thach That and Quoc Oai districts to enhance inspection and support the companies in carrying out COVID-19 prevention rules.
