Hanoi strives to complete COVID-19 vaccination as scheduled (17:50 13/09/2021)

HNP - Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen, who is also vice head of the municipal Command for COVID-19 prevention and control, chaired an online meeting with the city’s departments, sectors and localities on September 10, regarding COVID-19 prevention and control work in the area.

Giving a report at the meeting, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Health Nguyen Dinh Hung said that as of September 10, Hanoi has confirmed 3,970 COVID-19 infection cases, including 1,586 community-acquired infections.
According to him, since the implementation of social distancing measures on July 24, the capital city’s COVID-19 caseload reached 3,053, of them, 885 cases detected in the community.
There have been six complicated coronavirus outbreaks in the city, namely, Thanh Xuan Trung (Thanh Xuan district) with 536 cases, Van Mieu (119 cases) and Van  Chuong (93 cases) (Dong Da district), Giap Bat (Hoang Mai district) with 48 cases, Ngoc Ha (Ba Dinh district) (22 cases), Tan Lap (Dan Phuong district) (20 cases).
Currently, a total of 1,355 COVID-19 patients are under treatment in hospitals. 120 out of 610 areas are under lockdown in the city.
Regarding COVID-19 vaccination, Hung stated more than 3.3 million vaccine does have been administered to date. 
At the meeting, representatives of commands for COVID-19 prevention and control of districts and towns said that along with the support of doctors and medical staff from other cities and provinces, the localities are working hard to finish mass testing and vaccination as planed.
Conducting the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Manh Quyen praised the city’s entities and localities for their proactive engagement in the fight against COVID-19.
In realizing directions of the municipal People’s Committee stated at Directive No. 20/CT-UBND dated September 5, districts and towns in Hanoi have applied different COVID-19 prevention and control measures in three zones, he said.
In particular, the localities, designated  in zone 1, or red zones, have to speed up testing to timely detect and isolate coronavirus carriers from the community. Meanwhile, others need to facilitate business and production in parallel with COVID-19 prevention work. 
Quyen asked district-level authorities to exert every effort to achieve the dual goal of fighting against the pandemic and boosting socio-economic development from now until the end of the year.
Concerning COVID-19 vaccination, the deputy mayor requested the Department of Health to distribute the doses  to localities to finish the campaign by September 16.
Quyen also required the localities, based on Plan No. 206/KH-UBND on mass testing and vaccination for people in Hanoi, to mobilize all resources to complete vaccination as scheduled.
