Hoang Dieu Citadel National Salvation Youth Brigade presented “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” title (18:28 11/10/2021)


HNP - On the occasion of the 67th anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2021), the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi jointly held an event on October 8 to receive the “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” title which was conferred to the Hoang Dieu Citadel National Salvation Youth Brigade.

The event saw the attendance of Politburo member and State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
 
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Politburo members: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue sent flower baskets to congratulate the event.
 
Among Hanoi's leaders were Politburo member Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung; General Nguyen Quyet, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC), former Vice Chairman of the State Council and former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; PCC member and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen; PCC member, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh; former PCC member and former Permanent Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang; Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan; Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong; and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's municipal committee Nguyen Lan Huong.
 
The Brigade was a group of patriotic young men and women in Hanoi operating under the leadership of the Viet Minh (League for the Independence of Vietnam). Originating from a young  activist group, the Brigade was officially established in August 1944 at 46 Bat Dan Street, Hanoi, with 60 founding members.
 
The organization later intensified the dissemination of information on the Viet Minh Front as well as the Party’s revolutionary guidelines under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh at markets, schools, theatres and factories in both downtown Hanoi and surrounding areas such as Ha Dong and Son Tay. After the August Revolution, the Brigade and people nationwide exerted every effort to protect the revolutionary government.
 
They also engaged in the long-term resistance war against the French colonialists, contributing to the capital’s liberation on October 10, 1954, and then continued to participate in the resistance war against the US imperialists for national salvation until the day of complete liberation of the South and reunification of the country.
 
At the event, State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented the “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” title to the Brigade. 
 
The State President together with Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung also presented flowers to General Nguyen Quyet, former Secretary of the Party Central Committee, former Vice Chairman of the State Council, and former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.
