Hanoi Party chief orders to stay focused on COVID-19 fight and successful organization of the elections (06:52 13/05/2021)
Joining the delegation were members of the municipal Party Committee’s Standing Commission: Head of the municipal Party Committee’s Inspection Commission Hoang Trong Quyet, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Council Phung Thi Hong Ha, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Trong Dong, and Director of the Department of Public Security Nguyen Hai Trung.
The delegation inspected the preparation for the upcoming elections as well as COVID-19 prevention work at polling stations.
In Gia Lam district, the delegation checked on the electoral preparation process in a polling station of Cay De village in Kim Son commune, and in another of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture in Trau Quy town.
In Hoang Mai district, the delegation examined enforcement of COVID-19 prevention and control regulations in Phap Van - Tu Hiep quarantine facility, Hoang Liet ward and a polling station at the N014 apartment building in Dinh Cong ward.
On behalf of the city leaders, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung commended the efforts of all-level Party Committees, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s committees, organizations and people of the two districts in both fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and carefully preparing for the elections.
All preparations for the upcoming events have been carried out in the two localities in line with laws and in a timely manner, he stressed.
The Secretary asked the two districts’ Party Committees to work hard to effectively realize the twin goals of fighting the pandemic and boosting socio-economic development.
Especially, stamping out the COVID-19 is top priority as it is an important premise for the successful organization of elections, he emphasized.
He ordered the authorities to map out specific scenarios to respond to the different developments of the disease and ensure the success of the elections in any situation.
The Party chief also expressed his belief that with the responsibility of Party officials and members as well as the support of local residents, Gia Lam and Hoang Mai districts will make great contribution to handling the novel coronavirus outbreak and successfully organizing the elections.
In order to aid the fight against COVID-19, the delegation presented medical supplies to the districts.
As of May 11, Hanoi placed more than 30 virus-hit areas under lockdown in 17 districts and towns. Of these, two locations are in Hoang Mai district and four in Gia Lam district.
