The Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival concluded on October 6, wrapping up three days filled with engaging activities. Throughout the festival, it attracted over 63,000 domestic and international visitors.
The festival was among various practical activities to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954-2024). It included experiences like the two-story bus tour "Essence of the Ao Dai," an Ao Dai carnival with nearly 1,000 participants, the artistic program "Ao Dai Night" featuring 70 designers, and the final round of the Ao Dai design competition.
At the closing ceremony, Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Tourism Department, noted that after three years of implementation, the Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival aims to stimulate tourism while preserving, honoring, and promoting the values of the traditional Ao Dai in connection with tourism activities. The festival has gradually turned the Ao Dai into unique products and meaningful gifts.
The festival received support from various organizations, including the Ba Dinh District People's Committee, the Hanoi Tourism Corporation, the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center, the management board of Duong Lam Ancient Village, and numerous tourism businesses in Hanoi along with food stalls. It was organized on a grand scale with two stages and booths designed with open spaces on three sides, creating a unique atmosphere with appealing check-in spots for exploration and experience.
Notably, the main stage was elaborately arranged, featuring an opening ceremony themed "Essence of the Ao Dai." The grand setup on the historic grounds of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel left a positive and lasting impression on locals, tourists, and international friends.
The festival also offered side activities such as exhibitions showcasing Ao Dai from renowned designers and brands, traditional craft products and tourism services, live demonstrations by artisans from Van Phuc and Trach Xa silk villages, traditional games, and a culinary space highlighting Hanoi's distinctive snacks titled "Thang Long Ngu Vi."
