At the meeting, the city's leaders expressed their joy and excitement to welcome the distinguished guests and international delegates to Vietnam to attend the 22nd Congress of the World Peace Council.
On behalf of the Hanoi City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in the city, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Ha Minh Hai affirmed that the 22nd Congress of the World Peace Council, held for the first time in Vietnam, demonstrates the prestige and position of Vietnam in global efforts for achieving peace.
The congress is also an opportunity for countries to share and raise awareness of the role and value of peace and the responsibility of members of the international community in maintaining global peace, stability and security.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized: "The government and people of Hanoi warmly welcome the delegates and express their deepest affection to international friends attending the 22nd Congress of the Council. Also on this occasion, we would like to send to international friends a message of peace of the thousand-year-old capital of Hanoi, a city for peace, about the elegant and talented people of Thang Long - Hanoi. A dynamic Hanoi is on the way of development; together with the country and people of Vietnam, will always stand side by side of world progressive forces on the road to building a lasting peace on earth, a solid foundation for the future for sustainable development and prosperity".

By carrying out the work innovative and creative ways, the Party Committee, government and people of Hanoi are determined to expand, improve and promote the effectiveness of foreign affairs, mobilizing the support of international friends and partners to serve the cause of rapid and sustainable construction and development of the Capital, contributing to the progressive movement of the world's people.
Expressing her joy and appreciation for the warm welcome of the leaders and people of Hanoi, Ilda Figuereido, member of the Executive Committee of the World Peace Council, President of the Portuguese Cooperation Peace Council affirmed that it always supports and loves the country as well as the people of Vietnam in general and the people of Hanoi in particular. Peace-loving countries always want to cooperate with Vietnam to maintain world peace, for a fair and just world order.
The 22nd Congress of the World Peace Council takes place from November 22 toNovember 26 in Hanoi and Quang Ninh provinces. At the congress, the delegates will jointly set out the guidelines and tasks of the Council, contribute to the joint efforts of socio-political organizations, as well as democratic and progressive forces to protect and maintain world peace.
