Thanh Xuan’s Party Committee holds the 6th Party congress (17:52 02/08/2020)


HNP - The Party Committee of Thanh Xuan District convened the 6th Party congress for the tenure of 2020-2025 on July 31, with the participation of 188 official delegates representing more than 19,700 Party members from 53 Party organizations in the area. 



The event saw the attendance of member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Deputy Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung; former Politburo member, former Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi; former PCC member, former Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao; Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s municipal chapter Nguyen Lan Huong; Head of the municipal Party Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Thi Tuyen; Chief of the Capital High Command Nguyen Quoc Duyet; Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Council Phung Thi Hong Ha. 

 

In his opening speech, Secretary of the district Party Committee Nguyen Xuan Luu said that, over the past five years, Thanh Xuan has exerted every effort to successfully implement resolutions of the previous Party congress, and achieved remarkable achievements. All 13 socio-economic targets have been fulfilled or surpassed.
 
With its outstanding results across all spheres, the Party organization, government and people of Thanh Xuan have received many noble awards from the Party and State, such as the Government’s emulation flag in 2015, First-Class Labor Order in 2016, among others.
 
On behalf of the city leaders, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung congratulated the Party organization, government and people of Thanh Xuan District on their achievements over the past tenure. 
 
Agreeing with the goals set for the next term, including promoting sustainable economic growth, developing urban traffic infrastructure, improving the management of urban areas, ensuring social security, improving the locals’ living standards, and strengthening administrative reforms, among others, Chung urged the district Party Committee to carry out five key missions.
 
Firstly, the district should continue with the realization of the dual goal of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and boosting socio-economic development, maintaining social security and national defense, he suggested.

The city leader underlined the necessity for Thanh Xuan to tap into its advantages to fulfill all socio-economic development targets by 2025, with orientation to 2030.
 
Particularly, more efforts should be make to carry out programs and schemes on socio-economic development in effective manner, turning Thanh Xuan into a high-quality service center of Hanoi.
 
Chung asked the district to continue preserving and promoting cultural, historical and cultural values, and creating positive change in building elegant and civilized Hanoians. 
 
It is vital to improve the quality of the movement “All people stay united to build cultural life” in association with the execution of grassroots democracy regulations, he stressed, asking for due attention to social affairs, population work, health, job security, disease prevention and control.
 
The mayor requested Thanh Xuan to consolidate national defense and local military works, enhance law dissemination and education to raise the sense of law observance of cadres, party members and people, strength the fight against social evils, and create favorable conditions for further development.
 
The district needs to improve the leadership and competitiveness of Party organizations as well as the operational efficiency of local government, Chung demanded, urging the local authorities to continue effectively executing Resolutions of the Party Central Committee’s 4th plenum (11th and 12th tenure) in association with studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and style. 
 
The congress elected 41 members to the Executive Board of the district Party Committee for the tenure of 2020-2025.
