Son Tay district aims for significant development in next five years (20:45 31/07/2020)


HNP - Son Tay district-level town’s Party committee held its Party congress for the 2020 - 2025 term on July 30. 



Over the past five years, Son Tay district has been strictly following the resolutions and instructions from the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the government and of Hanoi. 
 
The average growth of the city stood at 10% annually, while the GRDP per capita as of the end of 2020 is estimated at VND52 million per year, up VND18 million against 2015. 
 
The state budget revenue in five years increased by 2.5 folds against the previous five-year period, and up 11% against the plan; poverty rate as of the end of 2019 was 0.38%, significantly lower than the rate of 5.2% in 2015; 100% of health stations in the district meet national standards as well as  and 80% of public schools.
 
Over the past five years, Son Tay district has put into operation 291 projects, including the Son Tay stadium, Son Tay high school, and some transportation routes, among others.

Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung congratulated the result that Son Tay district has achieved over the last five years. 
 
Out of the six priorities for the next term, Chung requested Son Tay district to closely follow the progression of the Covid-19 pandemic and the instruction of the city on dealing with it, focusing on combating the Covid-19 pandemic and boosting economic growth. 
 
Meanwhile, the district should focus on promoting economic sectors related to tourism, taking advantage of historical and cultural heritages in the district. 
 
Chung requested the district to aim to become a satellite city at Hanoi’s western area.
