In March, mining surged 7.2 percent against the previous month; processing and manufacturing witnessed a month-on-month surge of 7.5 percent and a year-on-year growth of 14 percent; electrical and gas production and distribution up 0.4 percent and 9.5 percent respectively; water supply and waste, waste water treatment up 2.9 percent and 7.2 percent.
In January-March period, processing and manufacturing grew by 6.2 percent year-on-year; electrical and gas production and distribution increased by 7.3 percent; water supply and waste, waste water treatment up 1 percent.
A number of industrial sectors with high proportions reaping remarkable growth included: food production and processing, accounting for 4.3 percent, up 3.7 percent over the same period; Electronic, computer and optical products production, accounting for 12.4 percent, up 4.1 percent; production of motor vehicles, accounting for 4.8 percent, down 4.6 percent; beverage production, accounting for 5 percent, up 0.8 percent.
