Speaking at the ceremony, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen said that in order to effectively implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress on cultural development and the conclusion of  General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the National Cultural Conference in 2021 "Culture is the soul of the nation", "Culture remains, the nation remains" and programs and resolutions of the City Party Committee on development of culture in general and the cultural industry in particular in the Capital area, over the past time, the Party Committee, authorities and people of Son Tay town have creatively, methodically and synchronously deployed solutions to implement the conservation and promotion of cultural values ​​to serve the development of tourism economy, including Son Tay Ancient Citadel.

“The 200th anniversary of Son Tay Citadel and the promotion of investment and tourism development organized by the Town today is a very meaningful activity, part of the series of activities of the “Year of Son Tay – Xu Doai tourism” , " Son Tay - the heritage domain" and this will be one of the important premise to arouse the great potential for the development of the town in the coming time. On behalf of the city's leaders, I would like to congratulate and share this honor and pride with the Party Committee, government and people of Son Tay town," emphasized Tuyen.

To effectively promote the potential and strengths of the Town in general and the value of the Son Tay Ancient Citadel in particular,  the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee asked the Party committees, authorities, fronts, mass organizations and all classes of people in Son Tay town in the coming time to continue to seriously and effectively implement the the Party's viewpoints and policies on cultural development; focus on preserving and promoting typical cultural heritages in the area, such as: "Duong Lam Ancient Village", "Va Temple", "Temple of Literature", "Ancient Citadel", ... in association with the promotion of the Town’s advantages in ecotourism, leisure and cuisine.

Besides, Tuyen called for the local authorities to mobilize all resources, prioritize investment in conservation and promotion of cultural heritage values, creating new driving force for tourism and urban economic development; constantly improve the competitiveness of Son Tay tourism through the effective implementation of activities of the "Son Tay – Xu Doai Tourism Year " and promoting the efficiency of the Son Tay Citadel Walking Street, eventually becoming one of the special cultural spaces of the town and the region; promote communication, promotion of innovation and diversification of tourism products; focus on digital transformation, develop smart tourism and apply information technology in investment promotion and tourism development.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee also called on departments, branches and localities pay attention to coordinate well in the conservation and promotion of heritage values ​​in the capital and town, especially.effectively exploit the potentials and strengths of each locality to develop tourism economy and cultural industry; making Son Tay town soon become the center of economic development for tourism and urban economy of the Doai region, creating a driving force for socio-economic development in the western region of Hanoi capital; striving that by 2030, the typical cultural relics of Son Tay will be upgraded into a "special national-level relic".

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Town Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of the town, Secretary of the Son Tay Town Party Committee Tran Anh Tuan expressed his thanks to the attention of the leaders of the Central Committee and Hanoi that have always accompanied the development of the Town over the years.

According to the Secretary of the Son Tay Town Party Committee, with the goal of creating a complete connection chain and promoting and investing in tourism development, Son Tay Town has been implementing many activities on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Son Tay Ancient Citadel, such as: Organizing the exhibition of pictures and artifacts introducing the relics of Son Tay Ancient Citadel and many cultural activities at the pedestrian street space; coordinate in organizing tourism promotion activities, connecting tours and routes to develop cultural tourism and cuisine of Son Tay and localities; organize extra-curricular activities, visit and experience at the Citadel relics in order to educate the tradition, the sense of heritage preservation, and arouse the potential of cultural creativity in the young generation; coordinated to organize the first international hot air balloon festival in town and area...

“These are the major events in the Son Tay - Xu Doai Tourism Year 2022, held on the 17th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23), showing respect and gratitude to the ancestors who have contributed to building the country in the long journey of development of the Vietnamese people,” he said.
