At the meeting, Thang Long Club Standing Vice Chairman Duong Ngoc Son gave an overview of the situation and results of the club's activities in 2022. Accordingly, in the context of safe and flexible adaptation to the the Covid-19 pandemic, the club organized 206 activities, with over 20,000 members participating. In the process of organizing activities, Thang Long Club focused on ensuring safety for pandemic prevention and control, at the same time, improving the quality of activities which focused on Party building and rectification; anti-corruption; briefing on new guidelines and resolutions of the Party; updating information about cultural and public health situations in Hanoi. Throughout these activities, the club helped members to timely grasp information about the situation in the country as well as in the world. In addition, Thang Long Club also built the club's website to promptly inform activities and serve as a channel for exchange between members.
Thang Long Club members also highly appreciated and congratulated the comprehensive results that Hanoi has achieved in 2022; at the same time contributed many ideas to build and develop the capital in the coming years.
According to Cao Van Khoa, in the pilot implementation of the urban administration model, Hanoi needs to strengthen decentralization and increase the number of full-time People's Council deputies. Khoa also said that Hanoi must determine its foremost priority as the political - cultural and educational center, from which to have an appropriate development strategy.
Appreciating the guidelines and decisions of Hanoi in the development of flower gardens and parks, however, Pham Van Cau said that the city's number of parks and flower gardens are low compared to the city’s fast population growth rate. Pham Van Cau suggested that City leaders need to attract investment resources in flower gardens and parks to create a more green space for the capital.
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen sincerely thanked all the suggestions of the members of Thang Long Club.
Informing Thang Long Club members some of the city's outstanding results in 2022, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen emphasized that the city has completed the 10-year review of the implementation of the Resolution. 11-NQ/TW of the Politburo on directions and tasks for the development of Hanoi in the period 2011-2020, submitted to the Politburo for promulgation Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW dated 5/5/2022 on the directions and tasks of developing Hanoi to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
The main goal is to build Hanoi into a smart, modern, green, clean, beautiful, secure and safe city; to develop rapidly, sustainably and contribute to the overall development of the country.
