Hanoi mayor meets Chairman of Japan’s Kyushu Economic Federation (15:50 09/03/2023)


HNP - On March 8,  Tran Sy Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, hosted a reception for a delegation from the Kyushu Economic Federation of Japan.



The delegation was led by Yutaka Aso, Honorary Chairman of the Federation. The purpose of the meeting was to exchange greetings and discuss issues of common interest.

During the delegation's visit, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the City People's Committee, welcomed the delegation and expressed his admiration for the long-standing activities and promising potential of the Kyushu Economic Federation. He hoped for closer cooperation between Hanoi and Kyushu businesses in areas of potential growth.

Given the robust relations between Japan and Vietnam, Thanh stressed that Hanoi and the Japanese Embassy have been actively implementing initiatives to promote business exchanges and cooperation ahead of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their relations. The two sides have a comprehensive understanding and cooperation in various fields.

Yutaka Aso, Honorary President of the Kyushu Economic Federation, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the city leaders and expressed his happiness with the strong relationship between Hanoi and the Kyushu region. Fukuoka Province, located in the Kyushu region, has been twinned with Hanoi since 2008 and has achieved several important milestones.

Aso revealed the delegation's goal to establish the Kyushu Promotion Center in Hanoi, which is supported by the Hanoi City Government. He hoped that the establishment of the center would serve as a bridge to strengthen development opportunities for Hanoi and Kyushu, and promote relations between Vietnam and Japan in the future.

The president of the Kyushu Economic Federation said his delegation to Hanoi consisted of representatives from the government, business, and universities.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed development goals and potential cooperation in various fields between Hanoi and Kyushu.

Thanh expressed his agreement with the Federation's proposals. He assured them that Hanoi is willing to cooperate with Japanese businesses, especially with the Kyushu region, in areas of strength for the federation. Hanoi and Japan have great demand for infrastructure development, transportation, industry, attracting high-tech and green technology, solving environmental problems and improving public health.
